E-ZPass® Transponders

The E-ZPass® transponders must be mounted properly before use. If the transponders is not properly mounted, it may not work and may be unlawfully positioned*.

  1. Clean placement area on inside of windshield with isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) and allow to dry.
  2. Remove plastic tape from back of Velcro™ mounting strips on transponders.
  3. Position transponders as illustrated below based on your mirror type.
  4. Press transponders firmly against the windshield glass.

License-Plate Transponders

A License-Plate Transponder (LPT) is an external transponder designed to be attached to the front of a vehicle.

Please Note: The LPT must be installed on the vehicle's FRONT license plate.

The E-ZPass® logo appears on the back of the LPT. When the transponder is installed properly, the E-ZPass® will be right-side-up and directly against the front of the FRONT license plate, and the arrow(s) on the back of the transponder should be pointing UP.

Installation Instructions

  1. Remove the two screws that hold the TOP of your FRONT license plate to your vehicle.
  2. The LPT must be mounted on the TOP of the FRONT license plate. Align the BOTTOM holes of the LPT with the TOP holes of your FRONT license plate, and, using the screws that you removed in Step 1, mount the LPT against your front license plate. (Only use the top holes of the LPT if it is impossible to mount the LPT using the bottom holes in the device.
