Individual Accounts are available for two-axle vehicles only. In addition, Individual Accounts are limited to customers who request four or fewer transponders. Individual Account holders do not have to purchase their transponders. Those using cash or check replenishment for these accounts are required to provide E-ZPass^® Maryland with a $10 deposit for each transponder. This deposit is refundable at the time a customer returns his or her transponder, unaltered and in good working condition, to the Authority. This deposit is waived for credit card replenishment customers.

Individual Account holders may choose one or more of the following Plans for each transponder:

Standard Plan(for casual use)

This plan allows you to enroll in the E-ZPass^® program and pay the full-fare toll at all E-ZPass^®-equipped toll plazas in Maryland and at E-ZPass^® toll plazas throughout the Northeastern United States. Trips in this plan do not expire.

If you enroll in any E-ZPass^® Maryland commuter plan, you automatically will have Standard Plan privileges at all other E-ZPass^®-equipped toll facilities where you do not have a commuter plan.

When to select this plan:

• If you do not qualify for a commuter plan and wish to take trips on E-ZPass^® facilities. A full-fare toll will be deducted from your account for each trip taken.
  No minimum use is required.

(Plan 1) Baltimore Region Commuter Plan [MDTACMT]: (Fort McHenry Tunnel, Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, Francis Scott Key Bridge, John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway and Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge) Pay $20 for 50 trips that are valid for 60 days. Because tolls are collected only in one direction at the JFK Highway and Hatem Memorial Bridge, two trips are deducted for each passage.

(Plan 2) Bay Bridge - William Preston Lane, Jr. Memorial Bridge Commuter Plan [MDTAWPL]: Pay $25 for 25 trips that are valid for 60 days.

(Plan 3) Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge Commuter Plan [MDTAHWN]: Pay $15 for 25 trips that are valid for 60 days.

All commuter plans are time sensitive. Trips will be deducted from your account as they are taken. Funds associated with unused commuter trips will be forfeited as a lump sum deduction from your account.

Business plans for two-axle vehicles are the same as those for individual accounts, with the exception that the transponders must be purchased. ($24.60 per interior transponder). *Transponder charges listed are as of 1/2006 and reflect the direct cost incurred by the Maryland Transportation Authority. These costs may increase without notice based on pricing set by the transponder manufacturer.

Vehicles with three or more axles may qualify for our Post-Usage Discount Plan. To qualify, your account must be opened in Maryland. The cycle for post-usage discounts is 30 days. A cycle begins on the first use of your transponder. Discounts are credited to accounts 30 days after completion of a cycle.

$100 to $999 of toll usage – 15 percent Discount
$1,000 to $2,999 of toll usage – 20 percent Discount
$3,000 to $4,999 of toll usage – 25 percent Discount
$5,000 or more - 33 percent Discount

Calculation of discounts is based on usage by vehicles with three or more axles at Maryland toll facilities only and does not include any applicable fees that may have been deducted from your account during the calculation period.

All transponders associated with valid accounts will be accepted at all E-ZPass^® facilities. Tolls charged will be based upon the toll-rate structure of the facility where the customer incurred the toll.
